In 1957, Pastor Christian Rimbo was born in Pontianak, Kalimantan West. His given name at birth was Lim Siaw Teng. As a young child, the Holy Spirit planted powerful seeds of truth into his spirit and ever since his teenage years he has had a burning desire and intention to serve God.
As he continued to grow, this attitude and intention continued to deepen and the Lord led him in the direction of business and sales and he became a very blessed and successful businessman.
Christian Rimbo was faithful to the mission and vision that God had given him since his youth and following his salvation his inner yearning to serve Him increased more and more each day. At this point, he came to the realization and understanding that his life and his time did not belong to him, but that his life belonged completely to God - his old way of life having died (2 Corinthians 5:9,10,14,15,17).
In the time between his salvation till his clear-cut call into full-time ministry in 1992, he never neglected to share the gospel to win the souls of the lost and from 1975 until 1992, God used him powerfully to enlighten many peoples' understanding of The Way and to serve Him in His work faithfully at all times.
In business, Christian owned and ran many different businesses in several industries including clothing and groceries. These businesses supplied produce to retail shops and department stores and over time the influence of some of his businesses spread beyond the local area into the national and international arenas. During these years, his major ambition was to grow his businesses and he became an extremely successful entrepreneur with four large companies and several partnerships with friends and family. The large-scale organizations dealt in clothes, cosmetics, cold storage, sound-systems, flower sales, stationery, retail shop fittings, bread and general groceries.
Each of these business ventures were valuable experience for Christian Rimbo and enabled his standard of living to increase rapidly. He gained much needed knowledge in dealing with people, influencing people for the glory of God and also how the blessing of God comes into a faithful servant's life. All of these things have stood him in good stead since his decision to serve God as a full-time minister of the gospel.
When God inquired of Christian Rimbo, "When will thou serve Me with all thy time?", his answer to God was, "God, now ... now," an answer accompanied with tears of joy streaming down his face. An overwhelming realization that God had called Him into the ministry came upon him and he immediately made the decision to follow and obey his Father. After experiencing this powerful call, he started to submit his businesses to his wife, as the Lord directed him. In the meantime there were many indisputable confirmations given by God concerning His plans for his life and henceforth he began service for the Lord in the ministry.
After several years, Christian Rimbo and wife became proud parents to a daughter whom they named Grace (Ie Hui) and ten years later their second daughter, Elizabeth (Fang-Fang), arrived, born in 1993. Their son Joshua was born in 1995.
Today both Christian and his wife Haminah serve the Lord full time in the ministry. Their daughter, Grace, and husband, Nicholas, are leading a church in Sydney, Australia and their second daughter, Elizabeth, has a passion to serve God in the ministry. God has truly blessed this family as they have continued to submit themselves under the mighty hand of God through faith and obedience.
